My turtle was basking and I noticed that a substantial amount of balloonish leg skin was hanging out...will this go away if i dont feed her for a while or is it something serious?

My turtle was basking and I noticed that a substantial amount of balloonish leg skin was hanging out...will this go away if i dont feed her for a while or is it something serious?
it sounds like your turtle has been overfed a few times. it may go away, the worst things you have to worry about overfeeding is the shell being deformed or the organs inside of the turtle being able to keep up with the growth... how much and of what are you feeding your turtle? my turtles are a year and 2 years old... i feed them about the amount of pellets that would fit in their head every other day, and then i offer lots of greens, as well as some pieces of fruit and veggies everyday! your turtles diet should consist of mostly greens. sometimes i will feed my turtles some feeder fish, earthworm or maybe some chicken but only as a snack and not very often! hope this helps...

I feed them Kaytee Aquatic Turtle Pellets and lettuce and chopped up fruit...they eat a lot..i feel bad when they get all clammery ifi take the food away..
If your turtle is healthy you should only be feeding it every other day or so. Daily feeding can make an overweight turtle and they can get spoiled and develop favorite foods. Every other day (once that day) feeding allows them to get a little hungrier and they will be more apt to eat what you give them. Don't just feed one or two things. Variety is best.
