my RES lives in a tank w/3 other RES's. i just noticed that she has some kind of wound/skin condition. one of her flippers has a tan/brown spot, as well as the top of her neck. the other 3 are ok. it looks like it might be decaying flesh or a scab, i really don't know...i'm not a turtle expert. she is fatter than my other 3 RES's cuz she eats so much. i have 2 questions:
1) this is the more urgent question: what is wrong w/my RES and how can i treat her? should i take her to the vet? do vets generally know much about turtles, or do they deal mainly w/cats & dogs?
2) what would've caused this? is it b/c a) she's fat, b) she gotten bitten by another turtle, or c) there's something wrong w/her environment (inadequate nutrition/basking light/poor water quality)?
