sinaloan morphs???

snakes May 09, 2004 10:31 AM

Hi!

Do you know about any "pure sinaloan" morphs on the market?
I have read about hypoerythrystic ones, but what about amelanistic, hypomelanistic or anerythrystic?
Do you have any knowledge about such morphs?

Off course saying "pure sinaloan" morphs I mean sinaloans, not crossed with nelsoni or other kiongs and milks.

I am asking this question, because in one of this year's clutches of a reputable breeder near me - a kind of hypo sinaloan popped out. This was not crossbred with any of kings/milks. Just one of the babies looks like hypo, having grayish-brown rings instead of black.
I will try to post a picture soon - I talked to a guy and I am going to buy this little bug, to see if it is genetic.

Let me know what do you think about it.

Best regards

I have often wondred when a hypo or anery would pop up.It seems like the pure #s that are hatched every year it was bound to happen.

I don't know of any anerys, hypos or pure amels at all.
Good luck with him and make sure you get some litter mates to go with him/her.

Post a pic if you can,

Thanks shannon

From a PURE numbers standpoint,I have NO IDEA how some of these other ssp have so few morphs and hondos have so many. Its NOT because there have been MORE of them bred I dont think. While I dont have the exact lineage of each morph(Shannon,Terry??)dont you think it rather odd that mexican milks or sinaloans or ESPECIALLY pueblans should have a much higher rate of "inbreeding"that would lead to more morph expression?I know that MANY lines are started out of WC morph stock.....Are there really that many collectors in Honduras vs any other part of central/south america?? What about all the other central american countries?? To me,this is a very troubling account of hondos until I can gather more data, does it bother anyone else or is it just ME again?LOL,Jeff

Definatly post a picture when you can. It will be very interesting to see how this baby turns out after a little growth.
Thanks,
Nathan
