I really have never heard this question asked before but I would say no because of the chemicals (chlorine) in the water, and I really am positive that they will not be good for your Python. If anyone else has something to say post up your thoughts

water temperature would have to be at least 80 degrees other than that cholrine has nothing to do with it i have been using regular tap water for my snakes for 13 years and it has cholrine in it and doesnt bother them at all just water temp you have to watch and them pooping in the warm water lol

I have long let me reptiles swim in my pool. I just make sure to give them water before hand in case they are thirsty. This way they will take less of the chemicals if they are thirsty. Besides this I make sure to wash them off afterwords. I have never had a problem doing this and have been allowing them from the time I had first got into reptiles. Be sure to watch them pooping! The warm water does it everytime!

Around 6 or 7 years ago when I first got a new pool I let a pair of my big Burmese swim. They seemed to really enjoy it and I never observed any negatives from it. I still have one of the snakes today.

I would just make sure the water is warm enough before dropping them in. I know that here in Texas it's not even close to being warm enough yet. The water temp is only around 68-70F now.

However, they will most likely relieve themselves, so you may want to keep a dip net and/or vacuum handy. That's why I only let them swim once...

I asked this question long ago for my iguana and the answer I got was "A water tight skin" Therefore I don't think the chlorine will mess with them. I also don't think they would drink it because they would be somewhat alerted from the interaction with you as opposed to when they are in their cage and peaceful. Like one of the other people said, cleaning it off afterwards is a good idea. Avoid the little brown or white subs!
