Did any collectors forget bagged snakes in N.E. MO??????

We got them. We were out earlier searching the rocks along the roads in North East Mo. and came across a bag. The area we were in we could tell someone had been through a couple days prior. Well they found a couple real nice yearling red milks and left them sitting there in the bag along side the road. Thank god we came along we were shocked they were even alive, they wouldnt have made it through today. Both looked pretty rough. Anyway a buddy of mine has them he will hydrate them and cut them loose. That just ticks me off that someone left them sitting there like that, I am suyre it wasnt intentinal but ya gotta check your stuff before taking off.

Happened to me one time. We dropped a bag with a male yellowbelly water snake in it. We had to backtrack at least a mile to try and find it. Like you said, I wouldnt expect that it was intentional, and mistakes do happen, but if I had lost snakes in a bag, I would do everything in my power to retrace my steps and find them. Good thing yall came along.

I have not lost any of my own either, but did find a bag (with a 5' EDB in it) in the 'glades many years ago. When I picked it up, just the sheer weight told me it was a diamondback- or more than one of something else. Hope I never have the experience of losing something in the field.
