Henklei problems

DocDoom May 09, 2004 05:07 PM

I have a nice leaftail gecko, but I am having problems getting him eating anything. I keep the humidity at around 85-90 percent and the enclosure is kept well. I have tried crickets, mealworms, and wax worms with no luck, this has been going on now for about 3-4 weeks. I am getting concerned. I would post a pic, but I dont have a camera. Thanks for any help.

you do know there nocturnal so he might eats late at night cause i have satanic leaftails and a couple of my males and females eat around 2:0a.m so he probably is eating but you just dont know it unless you weigh him

at 3-4 weeks i would expect it to be dead or EXTREMELY scrawny, he's most likely eating. the only other advise i can give if he in fact isn't eating or isn't eating well is..
1) temperature, keep BELOW 80 degrees F
2) be sure there are no larger animals to be seen ( cats, dogs, larger reptiles etc. this can stress them out)
3) be sure it is drinking... when i say this, i mean WATCH it actually drink
4) if it is looking unhealthy take it to a vet for a fecal and see if it needs deworming/parasatizing.

If indeed it isn't eating... I would assist feed it... I can elaborate more if need be...
