In 1999 Tim Belknap sold me a pair of incredible first pick Bolivians, a red female and a male with an intense purple belly. The male has been posted many times on this forum (though not recently). At the time Tim and I discussed the future of Bolivians, and he mentioned what awesome babies these two animals would produce. Alas, the male never showed a tiny bit of interest to any females, so I was just kind of keeping him as a pet. The girl was 4 1/2 this year so I cooled her to see what would happen. I put the purple male in, and guess what? She's gravid! This is her below. Sorry about the poor pics, but it's hard to take a good pic in a bottom cage that is only nine inches high and has a two inch litter dam. She is redder than the pics show. Fingers crossed, the long wait begins. (ps Please note the high-tech hide box on the right.)
