Cobalt Tincs

How much do cobalt tincs go for?

For froglets, be prepared to pay anywhere between $35-$45; sub-adults about $65; and sexed adults usually go for about $90-$100. I've had a pair of cobalts for quite some time now, and they might be my favorite frog as far as personality goes. Hope this helps!

I've seen cobalt tincs for sale for between 55-65$, not including shipping. They seem to be one of the more commonly available tincs, in my experience.

$45-$55 has been my experience and I have 5 at the moment. I love them they are so bold and out there.

Chantel, those are VERY nice looking cobalts you have there! Where did you get them, if I may ask? I have wild-caughts that are just now beginning to lay for me after having them over a year and-a-half.

Sillygirl May 11, 2004 12:17 PM

Why thank you. They are adults now, two females and a male. They kept a lot of their yellow. They are CB and from a local breeder here in Denver Colorado, named Mario. Contact me Off list and I'll put you in touch with him if you are intreasted.

Mario produces some good frogs. I got some cobalts about a year ago at the breeders show and right now they are big and huge. I always like to see other people from colorado in here. On a side note I just got an azureus from mike a week ago, its very fat, and plan on getting some frogs from Rick in the future. Good to see you are from Colorado

I guess I should have also added that I plan on breeded these tincs too. So hopefully by the end of this year I'll have some froglets.

Yours really have kept a good amount of yellow into adulthood! I've noticed the yellow on mine has begun to dwindle a little bit, but that may be due to me not supplementing with enough paprika. I just got a clutch out of mine yesterday that numbered 15 fertile eggs, so I may be swimming in cobalts here pretty soon! Mine don't lay very often, but when they do they mean business! LOL!

And here I thought I was doing the over kill thing. I use paprika in the culture and the dust (not too much though) and on occasions make my cultures with spirulina. They have kept a wonderful yellow color and I can't wait till they start breeding. One question....what do you all feed the tads though that works the best?

I've been using this mix for quite a while now, with nothing BUT good results:

1 part spirulina
1 part chlorella
1 part "Tetra-Min" tropical fish flake food - "The rich mix"

Sometimes I supplement with the occasional bit of dried bloodworms, but only once or twice throughout the tadpole stage, since bloodworms can spoil the water pretty quickly.

Hope this helps!
