Shedding

tazz10 May 10, 2004 01:34 AM

I bought my first leo a month ago, he is about 18 months old. He eats well and is tame and extremely curious, looks healthy to me. He shed last week but still has small bits of old skin on a few toes. I make sure his hide in the hot corner is humid (I use wet paper towels in a plastic box with an opening cut on the side) and he spends a lot of time in it. What else can I do? Is it normal that it takes so long to shed the toes?

if the shed is not completely off soak him in some warm water. i then would while hes in the water use a coton bud to gently wipe off the excess skin. it should come off pretty easily.
if you don't get the excess off he's going to get sore.

Thanks a lot, I was able to clear 2 toes tonight and he started wiggling a lot so I stopped because I was afraid to hurt him. I will try and clear the last toe tomorrow.
