Bearded dragon friends with water dragon??

rachwill May 10, 2004 05:46 AM

I have a 2 month old bearded dragon as well as an approx. 2 month old chinese water dragon. I just wanted to know what peoples thoughts were on me introducing the two when they are out of their viv's. Do you think they would be able to socialise without attacking one another??

Don't do it, for one thing both are from different continents and may carry bacteria or parasites which are normal for them but deadly to the other. For example, beardies often have small amount of coccidia (sp?) but water dragons don't, and it could easily overwhelm the water dragon's immune system. Not to mention that lizards don't need friends, they aren't social animals.
