Newbie Question

WE've had Eddie since november and i've never seen him do this before. I went upstairs to my sons room and he had the blackest beard i've ever seen him show and he was a crazy man. Constantly pacing and pawing at the sides of his tank. I reached in to pet him and he puffed up and hissed at me! What is up with that? I tried to give him a wax worm and he jsut walked right over it and keep pacing. The only thing that was different inthe room was that we had gone to the pet store and I had bought some fake plants to put in the fish tank. One was blue and the other was hot pink (really fake looking but added colour to the tank). He can see these from his enclosure and thats the only differnt thing in the room. Now he was just waking up this morning when i was leaving and he seem alright (he'd been up for about 45min so i gavehim a wax worm--just one--which he ate) and my son will feed him when he gets up. Is this a normal thing that they do? He's approx. 9 months old and 16.5". Temps are all in the right range,,,, 110 basking and 78 cool end. Any suggestions on what made him seem so agitated? Thanks. L.

I've known male beardeds to do that when they can see their reflection in the glass. the light hitting it a certain way, or maybe tinted glass.
