Question about Ackies

Mickey_TLK May 10, 2004 11:58 AM

I recently aquired a adult pair of red ackies and a young trio of ackies.

I am POSITIVE the young trio is related, however the male continues to try and breed the females (I just got them saturday and he hasnt stopped since).

The older pair however is showing no action.

The young male (about 8 mo, maybe 10" is a good deal smaller then the adult female (maybe 16" and the adult male is likely 20" while the young females are only about 6-8".

My question is this, do ackies pair bond? If not can I put the young male in with the older female to see if anything goes? Do I need to watch for problems?

I assume I CANNOT put the larger male in with the younger females yet? What size should I consider this. I would really like to split the pairs as Im quite sure the pair is related and I know the trio are related.

Thanks in advance.

I say if it is not broke don't fix it. If they get along and are pairing up let them. By pulling out that bottom card now you may just wreck the entire deck you have stacked. Go for the full house over the pair.

Haha sorry I was playing cards can ya tell?
