Possible parasites

civa May 10, 2004 01:19 PM

I just recently took in a Saharan Uro from someone who no long wanted anything to do with him. He seems a bit lathargic and skinny. I am afraid he has worms. Before I take him to my vet is there anything I can do to help him on my own?

Thanks in advance

I know a lot of people use Parazap for beardies to prevent parasites, get rid of existing parasites, and stimulate appetite. I've never used it, but have been curious about it. I would think it would be just as stressful to administer as any medication, but it's supposed to be great stuff with beardies.

Has anyone here used Parazap for a uro?

your best bet is to see a vet, and get a fecal done. they are inexpensive, and they can pinpoint the problem, or lack thereof, that has led to this condition. it could just be poor husbandry.

medicating without just cause can cause more harm than good

yes, yes, yes!!

I didn't intend to imply with my last post that Parazap is an alternative to getting a fecal check. The original question just reminded me of the issue. Sorry if it was read as such!
