My son bought me two leopard geckoes for Mothers Day..Cool

Sila May 10, 2004 01:48 PM

They are 5 inches long and still mostly striped but with a few spots coming out any idea how old they are? I am taking a guess at 2mnths..I have been giving them both crickets and mealies..Are 1/2in crickets an okay size for them? Another question is I have them in a 20L and it seems a bit too big. I am using a 40watt ceramic heating element and it keeps one end of the tank about 80-85 is this too low? should I put a UTH under as well I have an extra I could use..I am so used to BDs and the 100 degree heat that they love that 85 seems so cold..Thanks for any help..-Sila
BTW I named them Oberon and Titania..Though I am not completely sure of the sex yet...

most likey it may be a sudadult and 20 gallon is more than enough room for the 2 leopard geckos you should always have a warm and cool side of the tank 100 degrees is to hot for a leopard geckos what i do is keep the heat lights on in the day time and cut them off at night and cut on the under tank heater so do you have water dish and calseuim dish also do you have enough hide places in your tank. you should also shouldn't have to many hiding places because the leopard gecko need a corner to poop. i hope this help you

i'd say they are around 3 months old and 1/4-1/2 inch crickets are ok. a 20 gallon is a good size for your 2 leos. like he said 100 is too hot just keep it at 85 during the day and around 80 at night. you mainly need just 1 humid hide and 1 dry, but more is better. and keep a spot open for them for bathroom wise.

By the way i like the names you picked for them.
