eve, kora just died it was after birth i guess the babies died too, i'm not hear to take care of here it sux really bad i'll explain another time MIKE

THIS IS EILEEN, MIKE'S MOM, JIM'S WIFE, DO FEMALE LIZARDS USUALLY HAVE PROBLEMS AFTER LAYING EGGS? MIKE WAS AT HIS AUNT'S SO I WAS WATCHING THEM AND FEEL AWFUL - APPARENTLY I AM NOT EDUCATED ENOUGH ABOUT HOW TO DEAL WITH KORA'S POST EGG LAYING PROBLEMS - ALL THE OTHERS LIZARDS SEEM FINE.

DO YOU THINK MIKE SHOULD GET ANOTHER FEMALE (OF COURSE NOT RIGHT AWAY) PLEASE REPLY REGARDING PREGNANCY AND SPECIAL NEED THE LIZARDS HAVE AFTERWARDS

First let me say how very sorry we all are on the forum , about Jim's passing! Shocking ! Sad! He will be MISSED.

Hope and pray you and the kids are doing okay. Just want to say one last thing, thought Jim was a heck of a nice guy, loved meeting him and the kids, and having lizard conversations,

Okay, the last time we heard from Mike, Kora was about to lay. You were going out to get bricks, (hahahah)

We never heard back what happened. Did she lay? And then she died? Or did she die before she layed?

That would be helpful to know. If she died before she layed, it sounds as if she may have been what we call eggbound.

And certainly NOT your fault, for lack of knowledge.

This means she for some reason, (we do not know,) could not lay the eggs. They wont pass, so they stay in her and basically cause infection I believe, and the female will become very lethargic, and ill and soon will die.

There is nothing you can do. Some elect to have them surgically removed, which is expensive, and also does not even garrentee she will make it.

Even if she died after laying, it was still probably related to the laying process. Something just was not right!

Dont feel terrible, it happens, I hope Mike does not feel that you guys are failing.

Sounds as if you are doing everything you can to learn. And seem very caring! Hang in there ! It gets better. I would hold off if I were you as far as another female.

You guys have 2 other females if I can remember.

I'd see how things go with them and if Mike holds an interest in them, before adding more.
