This website http://wellness.ucdavis.edu/safety_info/poison_prevention/take_care_with_plants/toxicity_of_plants.html
lists the following plants as toxic to humans and animals:

Arrowhead Vine (Syngonium podophyllum) 2
Devil's Ivy (Epipremnum aureum) 2.

Other plant websites:

Hope this helps.

i know they are toxic if eaten...the question is would a frog sitting on them be able to take up the toxins or does it need to be ingested?

I am no biologist. The website says: " Oxalates: The juice or sap of these plants contains microscopic oxalate crystals. Oxalate crystals are shaped like tiny needles. Chewing these plants may resultin pain and irritation of the mouth, lips and tongue." Since amphibians absorb substances through their skin, I would assume they would be irritated by the needle-like crystals in the sap. Any biologists out there?

You will be ok with either plant. I use both of them in tanks all the time.
