That's too bad....hopefully your not in too much pain (it really depends on how hard it was to get them out....my sister had 6 that were impacted and they had to break her jawbone!!! OUCH!!!). Get better soon!!!

i just got mine out on friday. it does suck, but how could it get infected if you wash your hands after you handle them like you should every time. right now im holding my favorite female, Nova.

your head will collapse, but there's nothing in it, and you'll ask yourself, "where is my mind"

thefiradragon Jun 17, 2003 12:22 AM

i usualy do wash my hands,
but i sometimes catch myslf with my fingers in my mouth or a contaminated pen in my mouth, plus granny is a lil paranoid she doesnt want me to get sick

ouch, I hated getting my wisdom teeth out. It was horrible. I got mine out before the had come through the skin yet, so they had to cut the skin remove the teeth and then sew up the skin a little. It was better than having holes but it still hurt like the dikens. are you swelling up bad? that happened to me, lol I looked like a chikmonk.

As far as getting infected from the geckos its pretty unlikely as long as you wash up after handling adn dont do anything dumb with the geckos ;-] aka licking it or kissing it or putting it in your mouth. As far as getting infected, mine did, not fun at all...... but I also couldnt take any of the meds they gave me so its likely that played a role.

good luck and feel better soon :-]

mine hadnt come through yet either so they had to cut them out, first day of it no swelling, but today, d@mn i look like a chickmonk. aww dumb stuff? i do kiss my geckos tho, im good about not licking my fingers after handling them but ooo, the risk of infection is a risk i dont want to take...yet i dont want my babies to feel unloved. sucked for you about the meds i can take them but the antibiatics with the uberpainkillers put me to slp =(.
oh well
thanx

lol, yeah about "dumb stuff" where i was going was mainly involving disease transference. Its up to you but just so your aware kissing your geckos or having them get in contact with the mucus membranes (mouth, nose, eyes) can transfer bacteria and germs.

Anyways, I hope you feel better soon :-] and heres a pic to cheer you up.
