panther chameleon egg question

defector May 10, 2004 07:12 PM

My diego panther chameleon eggs are around 3-4 months into incubation now but I noticed that a 2 or 3 of the eggs are starting to colapse in on the side of the egg that is face down in the vermiculite. I have added water in the last 2 days since I noticed this and so far not much progress, can anyone else tell me if there may be some other problem? I know some eggs are just infertile but these eggs seemed fine till now and all the sudden a couple are just started to colapse in a bit.. how long does it take for these eggs to come back to normal? any help or advice would be appreciated..thanx..

im no expert but i think that means those ones are no good/infertile. im pretty sure you gotta take those ones out before they start to mold and kill off all your good eggs

they may or may not return to normal in any case i would seperate them from the good eggs you have just transfer them to a different container you will know when its past the point of no return i have heard of shriveled eggs hatching!

As mrcham previously stated, perfectly viable offspring can hatch from shriveled eggs. I would also separate the collapsed ones from the others and keep an eye on the humidity of your incubator(s).
