Blood x dhet for blood

kirby May 10, 2004 07:20 PM

I came home to a nice small litter of blood x dhet for blood boas. The picture shows a blood, a bloody salmon and an extremely striped baby. It is unclear if the striped baby is a dhet or an extreme bloody salmon as it has a different color from other dhets in the litter. The color in the bloody salmons is really remarkable. I will post more pics after the babies shed.

Bill, Congratulations on your litter! I remember when we first talked about the possibility of mixing the Salmon gene with the Blood gene and how excited we both were of the possibilities. I know this is something you have waited for for a long time. Congratulations!

Good luck with the rest of your boa's this season!

Best Regards,
Rich

Major congrats to you, and after talking to you, I know you still have ANOTHER litter of these from your DH male to a HET female that you have. Since this was a Blood to DH Bloody Salmon, it is AMAZING to see that those you produced look like the others ones seen that were used from a DH to DH. I can't believe the amount of striping that goes on in this bloodline. I remember when Rich Ihle first produced those DH for Bloody Salmons there was quite a bit of striping in that litter. You were one of the ones who saw the light on that project. I looked at them and Thought about buying a pair in Daytona, and said, NAH, it isn't worth the money. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS to you for producing some Amazing animals in the Boas. There are soo many things you can do with these Boas. Imagine a BLOODY SUNGLOW!!! Can't wait to see if more striping comes from your DH male to your Het blood. That should be Cool too. Thanks for Sharing. Jeremy Stone

I have been looking forward to having blood boas since I was on Ron St. Pierre's list in the 90's. As many of you know my son passed away on 5/4/03 and this litter and others I am waiting for have been a source of comfort/inspiration for me as my son and I worked on the snake projects together. Thank you all for your kind words and support over the last year.

Bill, that is such horrible news about your son, and I'm sure you will never get over such a sad event. I remember meeting your son in Daytona and he was a fine young man. It is great that we have such wonderful animals that really do act as therapy. I'm sure your son will know long before you about all the killer litters that you will be having. I really do wish you and your family the best. I'm sure there is not an hour that goes by that you and your wife doesn't think about your son in a major way. At least your mind can temporarily be relived, and I'm sure your son is just as happy for you with this litter as if he were here pulling the babies out with you. God Bless, Jeremy Stone

Bill, congratulations on such beautiful animals. You know, some times we need to take a moment and think how truely special these animals must be. You can just look at them and they make you feel better. Nothing can take away the enormous sadness you feel having lost your son, or the shock I had getting dx with breast cancer. But I can tell you, you sure appreciate the little things like seeing these little miracles of snakes being born or just being their beautiful selves, which make each day a little brighter. That is a powerful thing.
