I was on the garter snake forum and saw a post where a garter gave birth to 92 live babies...got me to thinking about snake breeding. All the literature is pretty much the same, hibernate the snakes, put them together. They breed, produce eggs. Incubate the eggs, produce babies. OK so far.
My question is this: How female snakes can a male pit breed? Does it vary by species? How do you tell if a male snake is getting tired? What is a good ratio of males to females if I want to breed them?
There are probably questions I haven't thought of but this is a start.
Thanks,
Mike B
