Any dangers to breeding?

Langi May 10, 2004 08:37 PM

A friend of mine has a female snow corn that he wants to breed with my male normal. What exactly would this involve, how long would he need to be gone, is there any chance they would hurt eachother? Thanks for the help.

The only real danger in breeding corns is complications in laying eggs for the females. the male is basicly getting laid with out strings attached, other then possible spread of any infections from one snake to another. It takes corns snakes just minutes to copulate if the female is receptive, so your friend having your snake overnight should do the trick, maybe do that twice in a week. As a stud fee, your friend should allow you either pick of the litter or a couple of the babies, other then that it is pretty easy.
good luck with it
