I've had great success with a couple of different varieties of moss collected from northern Texas. I recieved it from a member of this board: TonyT at www.tropicaljewels.com
It never dies out and looks great! Hope this helps!

I am from Chi-town IL.
I have used it in several trap door spider setups with great results!

Wasn't sure if it would hold up with the high humidity or not.

I collect alot of the moss for my tanks from the woods out here in Texas and from my parents property in Louisiana. I know these areas are pesticide free so I feel safe using them. It seems to do great like Randy said. If you are interested in some e-mail me and let me know. My e-mail is DATUDISME@MSN.COM
