Pic of one of my best of 2004's and quick question on carrotail

wahberee May 10, 2004 10:06 PM

Im suprised the rules of Carrotail have never been defined but anyhow, Is carrotail a percentage based on how much surface area is Carrot or how much length is carrot??? If you think about it, it takes up less carrot to fill up the tip of the tail, and Im not sure where big gecko dealers get their percentages from cause some of them seem more like surface area.

Yeah I have thought about that as well Robert. I don't think its anything concrete. I mean like you were saying the tip of the tail is alot less mass than say the middle of it. I pretty much just estimate and thats what I think most people do. I mean I don't think they are actually getting a surface area of a leopards tail and then getting the percentage. Looks like your going to have some awesome carrots. Hey by the way I hatched out the first leos from Brutus and a patternless. They were just hets but interesting non the less. Hopefully I will have some pattys soon from him. Oh I almost forgot. I have a little rubbermaid all setup for that little carrot. When can I expect him? Take care man. Oh and come see us on the other forum.

Yeah Brutus's babies should be nice, Peewee's son is awesome. I have 2 eggs from Peewee crossed with Another Tangerine cross patternless. hopefully I get two more eggs from her so the stats will work with me. Hows your projects coming along??

Its comming along. I have hatched out the first clutch from Brutus and my female Patternless. They are normal hets. I have a few more clutches from them so I am hopefull for a patternless out of them. Hey if you get out of the project please consider me for the what you have left of it. I would love to have the chance to keep it going with what you have done also. Thanks !

That is an awesome looking gecko! I can't believe the orange he has already, you are VERY lucky!

I heard that to be considered a carrot tail a geckos' tail should have at least 25% orange. I think that is a good estimate, everybody’s judgment will be a little different.

Take care
