retic intelligence?

bballfan May 10, 2004 10:29 PM

I heard retics are possibly the most intelligent python, if not snake, out there. I've just been wondering. What characteristics or behaviors do they show that make their intelligence distinguishable from ooooh say a ball python or burmese? What level is their intelligence on? Dog level? Cat level? Bird level? (birds are pretty smart)

Retics will actually stalk and study their prey in the wild. They will follow their potential prey to learn their habits, sometimes for weeks. They are quite intelligent. I think that a case, however could be made that the most intelligent snake is the King Cobra. They're scary how they can anticipate you.
