I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I had parakeets for most of my life. In fact the last parakeet I received as a gift is living with my son. Buddy was given to me when my son was in 5th grade. When my son grew older and left home he wanted to take the bird with him as they were extremely close. He is now 24 and a computer systems analyst.Buddy is the same blue color.

They are wonderful little creatures and a delight to own. They each have their own cute personality. I am sure you gave him a loving and caring home over the years and that is why you loved each other so. It was great that he had an owner such as yourself. Be happy you gave him lots of love and caring. He made you happy in life and I don't think he would like to have you in tears. Remember the wonderful times you had together and think of it as a celebration of life.
