I've had my baby argus X flavi cross for about a month now, and it seems like it only wants to hide. I know that sometimes they will do this if the cage is too hot, but my basking temp never goes over 140 F, and it goes all the way down to about 78-80 F, with everything in between. The soil stays pretty moist and humid, could it be that overall cage humidity is not high enough? I thought this was an arid species anyway... I didn't screw around with it when I first got it, the only time I do anything to it is to give it biweekly baths, and I didn't even do that for the first 2 weeks. Could it still be adjusting? I know it eats and drinks when I'm not around, so I'm not really worried about that... Since it is apparently out and about when I'm not around, could it just be frightened by me? If so is there a way to gain its trust.. I think I read on here that food is the best way.. but I don't even think it knows where the food is coming from...any suggestions/ideas? Thanks a lot.
Joe
