Beardie Egg Question

bcwatson101 May 11, 2004 01:40 PM

My Bearded Dragon's Eggs have been incubating for two months now and were doing great. Now a couple of the eggs have turned a translucent like color on a spot on the egg to where the white shell now looks clear. A yellow fluid has started leaking out of the changed color spot, but the egg does not look like it has been pearced. The rest of the eggs are a perfect white shell color with no blemishes. The funny colored eggs are the same size as the rest, but this color changed has just happened overnight. Any ideas anyone? Are the eggs bad/dead? Thanks so much for your help!!!

it,s hard to say without a picture but the fluid could be a sign they are about to hatch. often eggs 'sweat' before they hatch. unless they mold or completly collapse i'd leave them in the incubator, i've seen some pretty sorry looking eggs produce healthy happy babies. good luck.

I will have to upload a picture when I get home. The fluid is pooling at the top of the egg and is a yellow snotty like substance that drips down the side of the egg. The fluid only comes from the translucent area and has a rotten like smell.
