Siamese Twins - Very Sad

Jeanne May 11, 2004 02:13 PM

The other night I had ann egg that was due to hatch , it started to sweat, but it didn't hatch. The next morning I opened it myself and inside was a set of siamese twin geckos, stuck together at the head, needless to say they had passed away. It was SOOO sad to see them. They were perfect in every way except being stuck together. My nephew and I gave them a proper burial in the backyard.

Has anyone else ever hatched twin geckos?

So sad. Has this ever happened before? I know its the first case of conjoined twins that ive ever seen in geckos. Wow. Im sorry for your loss, I know how it feels to loose one of these cuties..but 2 in one has got to be hard.

It was very sad, but it is probably best for the geckos, because what kind of life would they of had. The way the were conjoined would have made it very hard for them to eat, nevermind just walking around.

This is the first time I have ever heard of anything like this too. I hope it never happens again, unless they are seperate twins and live, that would be cool.

Thank you

I didn't get a picture, I lost my digital camera while I was moving recently. I borrowed a camera from a co-worker today so if I have the heart to dig them up I will take a picture .

I just dug them up, the bugs have already gotten to them, so I won't be taking a picture.

Sorry!

I wanted to take pictures when they were first hatched, but I didn't know when I would have a camera and I didn't want to keep them in the house while they were decomposing (YUCK!), I also didn't even think of burying them in a tupperware (DUH).

They were preety cool, they actually had the same pattern to them (as far as I could see)like you would expect of twins.

If it happens again I will definately get pictures.

Am I the only one who has every had twin geckos (that lived or not)?
