Collared require UVB and NEED a big enclosure.
I wouldn't put one in less than 30-40 gallons tank.

you can have house gecko/pictus in your 10gallons

Their requirements are
-having at least a 40-50 gallon tank (captive breds,I feel, are best way to go for starters)
-having high heat through the cage (I heat it all day)
-having the right bedding (playsand is a cheap ticket, but get
the kind that cannot cause stomach problems)
-Having some source of UV.
-plenty of hidespots in cage
-water and food (off course)
-Plenty of care
There are also other small obligations but this is thier major basic needs. Check out my lighting. I have one bulb that produces 165watts to heat the whole tank and produces UV. The other lights are to make sure my cage is perfect for my collareds. There are more pics of my set-up at the collared photogallery.
P.s. I was gone at a place called school, sorry.

Also they eat anything that fits in their mouth. I give them calcium-dusted crickets and occassionally other nutritious bugs (as long as there able to be digested). There heat spots are at varying temps. The ground should be at around 95 (mine are) and they will go higher if needed. At night it should be alittle cooler, 85-90. The average CB male collared can get around 15inches (some bigger) and the females close behind. They are really friendly if cared for. They cost around 30-45 dollars for a nice, CB, baby collared. (I think???)
Need more, post again.

60-100$ are from pet shop
CB are not known in Quebec, I know there is someone in montreal
that had some babies and sold them to a petshop

Collaredkeeper May 11, 2004 09:54 PM

Many of the guys are selling them as we speak. I just went there and a Cb babies classified was just put on, not 5 min ago.

Also many of the U.S. dealers will ship to Canada if you ask.
