Female digging away.... ??

VTEC Jun 16, 2003 06:56 PM

I found my female in her humid hide (vermic in tupperware container) digging around twice today. She also went into my coconut hit and kicked out my male and kicked some sand out of there.. Is she gravid or what? When can I expect eggs? (she first started digging last night)

Yes, she is probably gravid. Does she have the bulges on her sides? If she does, then she is preparing to lay. When can you expect eggs? It depends on how long she has been gravid.

She is exhibiting the behavior typical to females that are about to lay. Check the lay box tomorrow morning...you might find some eggs!!!

I would say soon, when mine start to dig and pile up the material in the lay box it is within a day usually.
