Here's a neat one if you want to get technical and make something that REALLY works http://www.arbreptiles.com/cages/incubator.shtml

And here is something more simple http://www.herpcam.com/incubator.htm

For the containers where the eggs will be in.. Do you put the lid on it completly? do i make holes in the container?... also for the Aquarium... do i cover the top? if so with what?... i actually have a piece of glass that fits right over the top... oh and will the humidity be to high?.. low..?...

my eggs are in an air tight container, and I open them once a week for a few seconds.
And my experience with a homemade incubator is, yes, it does have too much humidity. I havent been able to fix this thus far.
But I do know that the hovobators have little holes in them to let some air flow through.

According to Albey's website.. they incubate their female geckos just by putting them inside their "reptile room"... hmm.. I was wonder if I can do this... any thoughts?

Put the eggs in a container with perlite... close the lid.. and use a heat lamp or heat meat to heat it up to 80*F...

Wouldn't this work fine?

could work, if your room temp stays at a constant temp with little to no fluctuations. Also...a heat light will dry it up real quick,...I dont know if Albey uses anything for humidity though. Thats one factor... how will you keep the humidity up without drying out the eggs? I guess I have to take a trip to Albey's site real quick to find out..hmm.
Btw..I purchased my hovobator at a local feed shop, its a Little Giants..and it cost $35.

At Albey's.. they said they use Perlite for the substrate.. and this will release the right amount of humidity... I think im going to try this.. first i will make sure that the room temp is a constant 80* or so.. if not.. I will keep a heat light not directly over it.. but close enough to keep it at 80*F... Lets just say that if it does get dry.. can't i just put a little bit of water into the perlite?

In my hovobator, ive never really had a problem with perlite drying out, as long as the right amount of water is added in the beginning. But yes, if it dries out, add a bit more, without wetting the eggs.
