I have about a year old northern water snake that has been doing great up until now.I fed him a fish that was a bit to large so he threw it up and i didnt notice for days and when i did it had decomposed badly and smeeled horrible.I dont know if this was the cause but the same day i noticed the fish i saw a small lump on the side of my snake when i cleaned out his cage any ideas on what it is thanks

There are numerous causes for "bumps" on the sides of snakes. The most common causes include subdermal parasitic worms and moisture related bacterial lesions. Without seeing the snake, it would be hard to determine the cause (can you post a pic?). I suggest making sure your snake's tank is dry (except for the waterbowl, of course) and watching the bump closely. If the condition worsens (i.e. more bumps appear, bump enlargens) I'd reccomend a vet visit. Good luck.
