Sorry about calling them S. Sthenodactylus, I knew they were S. Petrii, I didn't even think about it when I typed it. A lot of people told me they were S. Steno. and I guess I just had that in my head when I typed it... I'm not an idiot, I swear!!!

P.S. Thanks for the compliments!!!

Goddess,
Good point. This guy is clueless. See above posts.

icedearthgoddess May 16, 2004 01:34 AM

Sunny, may I ask whom is clueless? (Please don't take this in a rude manner, it truely is not meant to come out that way) If it is myself, I admitt I am new to this...so therefore my knowledge is limited. And anyways, isn't a forum used to learn...not to show how much you already know? You post to ask questions you don't know about, or answer those that you do know about. People make mistakes...it happens

The "clueless" email was a reply to your "assume" post about the viv_guy. This guy has been all over the forum with the same posts and then responds to your post without reading the entire thread. I suggested he buy a book.

Nice geckos first of all

2 quick questions though for anyone who can answer....

How do you sex stenodactylus geckos? (Mine are s. sthenodactylus, but they're probably quite similar to sex)

Also, is it the males or females that chirp? Or do they both...?

Thanks in advance..

icedearthgoddess May 16, 2004 01:29 AM

Take a look at the pic I posted of the two. The male is the top gecko and if you look close you can see two bulges at the base of his tail. Your S. Stheno. should probably be about the same. My guess is that the sexing technique (as far as visuals go) is about the same.

Well, all my stenos have little bumps where your male has them, but they don't stick out or anything like in your pic...do you have any pics taken from the bottom or side?

icedearthgoddess May 17, 2004 07:49 PM

Is this pic any better?

tamara_mckay May 18, 2004 05:15 PM

Hmmm...yes it is. I'm still torn those because mine have those little bumps...but they're not on any sort of bulge...
