Anaconda Shedding

ben_renick May 12, 2004 06:51 PM

I'm just wondering something, does anyone know how long an anaconda usually takes to get it's skin off? It's been about a week of clouded eyes, and a week of not, and she still hasn't gotten it off... She hasn't been eating since she started either... This is her second shed so far too... I know it's probably nothing to worry about at all, but putting the question up gave me another reason to put up another pic that I just took of her

I was amazed how long mine took the first time. It hasn't been long enough to worry though.

It takes forever. They quit eating early, their eyes go blue like a week after they start looking like maybe a shed is coming, then they stay blue forever, then they are not blue anymore and you think they will shed. Then they start looking like they decided not to shed this time and you are looking for a shed like it has already happened. then a few days later you get a shed. this snake takes patience.
