Update...and weird sleeping habit?

caraae May 12, 2004 07:48 PM

I wrote a few weeks ago about my tiny baby beardie that wasn't growing. I took some advice and he's now in a ten gallon tank and eating mainly veggies, soaked pellets, and silks. He's grown almost an inch in the past two weeks. I know he's still small, but he's definitely gotten heftier and more spiky. Anyway this is kind of a funny observation. Lately when the lights go out, he goes to sleep standing up-and I mean on two legs, not 4. He stands up and leans against the glass with his tail sticking out behind him. Anyone else ever seen this? I think it's hilarious.

I bet you see some crazier sleeping positions than that. I've seen mine sleeping in positions where I thought they had broken bones!

about to take a 14" drop to the floor of the enclosure. Sometimes I "adjust" their sleeping position a little in cases like that.

Wow. this is probably just me being new, but I never thought of reptiles as being agile. They always seem very stiff and serious.

Yes, My male does it all the time. He will sleep in any position he finds himself in when the lights go out. Don't beardies make you so happy? They can be fun even when they are asleep.

It's true, they do. And I love how he just immediately goes to sleep when the lights go out. It makes him seem very well-behaved
