Cicadas for lunch?

savvgawd May 12, 2004 09:55 PM

Since these suckers are going to be swarming the place within the next few days, do you think the monitors could eat them? I hear they are high in protiens and nutrients, so much that many people have come up with the idea for cicada recipes for themselves! Any input?

i wouldn't do it....seeing as how they have been living in some of the most polluted ground (depending on where you live) in the USA. if you live in an area where fertilizers and pesticides are not used then it may be ok. also they aren't gutloaded and have a high chitin content.
