Corn Snake Hatchlings

tegu2002 May 13, 2004 07:36 AM

Hi, I own 2 corn snakes (one male, one female). This year they mated for the first time and I was wondering how to house the hatchlings when they hatch out in June. Can I just put them each in a seperate tub with holes down the side. (They are used for selling locusts at the pet shop) Or what would you suggest??

Could someone send me some pictures please??

I'm not sure what you're talking about regarding the locust containers, but most people house their hatchlings in shoebox sized rubbermaid or sterilite containers.

Some people also use deli cups.

Whatever you decide to use, they need to have ventilation holes put in them. Don't use holes bigger than 1/8 inch because much larger than that and they will be able to get out.

Katie,

Most people house them individually in plastic shoeboxes with a water dish and hidebox. They'll feed more readily when housed separately in small containers.
