Question about my horny male

kahumano Jun 16, 2003 08:42 PM

Hey all!! I have a little problem. I have had 2 females living together since hatchlings. They are about 7 months old or so. Well, acouple months ago I realized one was actually a HE. I didnt seperate them as they seemed fine. Today though, he was chasing her and biting her neck. And plenty of head bobbing. Should I just let things be or do I need to seperate them? I would hate to do that as they have lived together their whole lives. Thanks for the help!!

Karen

Seperate until she reaches 18 months.

Hopefully it is not too late. Dragon this age can breed, but they should not, your male doe snot have the muscle develope that he will have as an adult to avoid problems like a prolapse that can be fatal.

Your female is still using everything she is taking in for herself and will need it for at least another year. If they breed now and produced eggs, she is more prone to egg binding and not recovering from being gravid and the laying... it takes a lot of of big healthy Adult females as it is.

Also higher failure of babies to survive hatching and the first few months of life and defects in the offspring when parents are bred to young.

Do both of them a favor and separate them.
