Does anyone have a permanant outdoor cage?

jodi82 May 13, 2004 01:49 PM

I'm considering moving my Cham's cage outside into our porch. I live in north carolina and the weather is great out here for him...doesn't get too cold at night.
I also have a cat and ever since we got the Cham, it's been non stop clawing at the cage, it's kinda driving me nuts.
Is there any recommendations w/ keeping them outside?

Thanks....Jodi

Hi Jodi,

First off..good luck with the MBD. Secondly, keep the cat away from the cage! That is MAJOR stress for the cham!! If he is already debilitated from MBD, a cat clawing at the cage is going to kill him quick! The cage should be up as high as possible (the lower part of mine are at my eye level).

As for the outdoor cage, when I was in California, I had a 7ft cage that I built myself using John's instructions on his page

I am going to start building a new one now that the temps in PA are warming up.
