No hesitation at all...!!

Last night I switched my burm over to rabbits for the first time. I didn't expect to have any problems, since he is such a good eater. Also, I had no problems back when I switched him from rats to guinea pigs.

He took them - and eagerly! He's sitting happy now, full of rabbit dinner.

Just thought I'd share. Here's a photo of him from last summer while I was trying to measure him.

Thanks for reading,
- Mark

I got him at the New England Reptile Expo back in 2000. I don't even remember exactly who it was that I got him from. I just remember that he was the only one in the entire expo. In the years since I've seen quite a few labyrinths. Seems they're not so uncommon anymore.

My burm is about four now. He's just a hair over ten feet, and at the time I last weighed him he was about forty pounds. And he's still growing at a pretty good rate too.

How about your burm (size and age)?

Well my guy is a lot smaller. He is 10 and a half months old and is 6 feet on the dot. We got on the scale last week and he was bout 4 lbs.
I know he is far off from rabbits yet but he takes the largest rat I can get a hold of very easily now and you can not even see the lump in him anymore. I gave him 2 large rats yesturday and he has a nice lump but was searching for more after those 2. He always chills out after a fill.

When did you step up to guini pigs?
I'm learning as I go with him so excuse my perhaps stupid question.

I started my burm out on jumbo guinea pigs when he was just under eight feet long, and about 15-20lb. From there, as he has grown, he has really been putting on more weight than length. Today is probably the hottest day of the year so far, here in MA, so I can't wait to get him outside. If I have time I'll take some photos so I can post some updated pics of him.
