any of u have cresteds?...and know that they do well on mealies instead of crickets...*when alternated with baby food..cuz i utterly loathe those 6 footed noisemaking ugly thingies that jump*..besides...i have too many mealies...lol..my geckos aren't eating the fast enough..waste of mealies...

Just like lilroach said, you don't need to feed any insects at all if you don't want to. I have raised them to adult on just supplemented baby food mixes and now I just use the crested gecko diet. Most of my Rhacs have never seen an insect at all.

I use a variety of things to feed my cresteds. I alternate the CGD with apricot and peach baby food. Then every now and then i put in some crickets and the freshly molted (white) mealworms. At first my cresteds went nuts for the live food but once i started feeding the baby food and CGD more often they have become more accustomed to that and kinda just stare at the crickets & mealworms.

I use a very deep glass bowl for the insects and i jsut put in some crickets for Zeus and Ziggy. Neither one have come over to that side of the tank yet so i don't know if they are going to eat them.

Right now i have a container full of crickets that just won't STOP cherping.....i'm about to go batty. I thought i fed off all the males that cherp but i missed a few LOL.
