Luna update

lele May 13, 2004 07:32 PM

she has been back and forth in her sand box. I was hoping when I got home today she'd be done. Nope, just messed around (and made a mess!) and was basking. She begged to come out tonight and then fell asleep on her jungle gym so I took out a plant and put in an additional box. After going thru all this I almost wish there WERE going to be babiesa a the end of all this! LOL! Not really, Luna is all I need

Here she is asleep (really just dozing) on her gym. If the angle seems odd it's because I was below that big belly looking up at the ceiling! She's pushing on the rope so she looks even bigger!

here is her set up

Please dont take this the wrong way....i am only giving my opinion from experiance. my brother has a female veiled and at first he messed aroun with her tank and stuff to get her ready to lay and then she wouldnt. but once left alone she finally did it. i dont think you need to be adding or taking out plants and boxes. in the end after all the fussing my brother's veiled laid her eggs in regular potting soil under a plant. i als heard and read they like to lay under plants for some reason. i just think you are fussing around a little too much with the whole thing.

im not trying to be mean or anything just trying to help you out.

hey Doc - no offense taken. Due to the ongoing saga since December regarding her state of "gravidness" (is that a word? LOL!) I am surely doing a lot of obsessing. I have been very conscious of the disturbance factor and was hesitant to do anything. But it is when she chooses to be out of the cage (strictly her choice) that I re-decorate.

I hear what you have said and appreciate your input. She now has her two tubs and has been doing test holes in each. Just a note, too. There is a cover on her screen door so when it is shut she is blocked from the outside and has complete privacy. If she chooses to lay in the scheff, that's fine, but I think it is way too pot bound for her to even get a foot in! Whatever the result I'll know next time...hopefully it won't be a 6 month ordeal again.

Thanks again,
lele
