Extremely picky eater

coolj9688 May 13, 2004 08:06 PM

I have a 12 inch female who is about 5 months old. After i got her when she was about 2 months old she went through a period of about a month in which i had to force feed her to get her to eat. Well now for the past month or so she has been eating by herself but she dosent eat much. She eats about a dozen crickets a week and also very little veggies. About a week ago i gave her some meal worms in hopes that she would like them and she absolutely loves them. She is willing to eat about 15 a day. I am very happy she is starting to eat well, but i was wondering, is it ok to give her so many meal worms? If not what can i do do try to entice her into eating more veggies and crickets?

Thanks,
Justin

to give you an educated answer you need to post your husbandry info. Current diet? temps? cage size? lighting?... Last fecal?

I would not use mealworms at all, supers only and only as a treat. T-rex VGF has an appetite stimulant you might want to consider. Parazap supposedly increases apetite as well. there are other bugs like silkies and roaches that work well. Or it could be parasites or your husbandry.
