It really depends on the rats. If they are big adults it may be too late in life to breed. If they are still settling in it may take a couple of months. I always bought couple month old, 'small to medium' rats and let them grow to breed them. Now the only time I buy in rats is if they are hugely pregnant or just popped and I can get a deal. I also tend to rotate my male through the girls like breeding rabbits rather than set up groups. So depending on what age they are and what you got it could take a month or two. If they are big shaggy adults it may be a long time if ever. They do get too old for first breedings. If they haven't bred before 8 months they may never. And likely you will get awful production anyway.
