Testing Halogen

Icefire May 14, 2004 12:01 AM

Since I'll be using Halogen bulb as Heat for my collared (basking light)
I'm testing it in their future TEMPORARY home.

It's a GU10 50Watts Flood Par16 halogen lamp.

I have put the Temperature probe at 14inch of the lamp and
after 20minute, it's about 98F
Í'll Post final result at 14" , 12" and 8"

here is a test:

The Halogen spot seem really nice!

At 14 inch, it show 98.8 F

At 12 inch, it show 106.5 F

AND at 10 inch, I get a nice 121.5F

I guess since I'll have a 18inch high enclosure, Basking rock
need to be MAXIMUM 5 inch high (would be at 10.5inch from lamp)
or I could put the lamp to have a diagonal basking spot so I could have more distance.

How hot is yours? I saw care sheet ranging from 105 to 120F
