New cage setup and sleeping??

FisherCham20 May 14, 2004 12:50 AM

A few days ago I had to replace all the plants in my Cham's cage and slightly redesign the layout of the plants for better drainage. I was able to leave all of the main vines as they were. Anyway, he seems to be adjusting very well to it and seems to like it better. Eating and drinking great. Only thing that has be worried is his sleeping behavior. Before, he was wander around his cage untill about 10 minutes before lights out and then find a spot near the top and settle in. But now he finds his spot about an hour before lights out and it's usually either on the rim of the plant pots or low branch in the back. It's strange because he never ventures to the bottom half of his cage during the day. Is this any cause for concern? Sign of stress? Oh, his cage is about 3-4 feet off the floor. I have a feeling it's nothing, but wanted to check. Thanks!!!

I wouldn't worry either. It usually takes about a week or two for chams to get readjusted to a new cage design. He'll probably back to normal in a few days to a week.
Good luck
Stevie
