Veiled Female Weight??? Tried to find but can't

ChicoB May 14, 2004 01:30 AM

Hello all! Thanks for reading my post. I read on the forum the other day a post talking about the proper weight to breed a female veiled at but when i searched the forums under :veiled female breeding weight" i could not find the post. Screameleons (by the way I wish I wasn't a starving college student or i would buy a panther from you) I remember posting about the optimal weight of a female Veiled. Anyway how much should my female weigh before i breed her? She is only 8 mons old but i would like to know the propper weight.

I think most of us use their age to decide when to breed rather than weight (any exceptions out there?). 8 months is fairly young. They physically CAN breed this young, but tend to do better if you wait until about a year old. Most development (internal, bone density etc) is finished by then.

I agree with that, but it also depends on the animal.Just to be safe,be sure that she is at least 10 months, then go ahead I would say. The longer the better (to the point when she starts laying infertile clutches all over the place).
