NEED good copper herping tips***PLEASE***

phib May 14, 2004 02:09 AM

I live in central MO and need some good photos of a nice adult copperhead for my album. Where should I be looking?? What habitat, time of day and weather condition. I've been looking the past two weeks in glade areas, south facing cliffs with outcrops, and deep forest, WHERE ARE THESE GUYS. Any secrets or tips would be greatly appreciated!!

P.S. one good note is I found a flawless adult rough green!

Thanks,
Brian

Though I've never caught one (my parents would kill me if the snake didn't) they generally stay away from human settlements. In Ohio, they normally are found in mountainous regions on hillsides near downed trees, under flat rocks, in dens, ect.

Dunno if that helps.
