ok so yea, do res shed their skin, cuz my baby res has recently had what looks like shedding skin hanging off of him, its been there fer awhile it seems to be goiung away but yea, its still there a bit, so yea, iwas just wondering what exactly this is, lemme know if i should try to post a picture...

They do shed their skin, it is normally only noticable if you are overfeeding him. Cut back on the protein and you will see less shedding. The shedding means he is growing too fast, which could lead to medical problems down the road. You water may also be too warm, so check that too.

yeah like dsgngrl says turtles shouldnt have skin hanging off them. if there growing slowly enough and arent too hot in the basking area and dont have a fungus, skin doesnt shed in any big way that you could see. there are other reasons too, so check the link. its the best place to learn about skin shedding
