O/T but need suggestions on a possible new pet....

mom2autumnnreign May 14, 2004 05:03 PM

Ok, Well I lost my budgie recently....he was my most social pet....I could take him out and he would walk around my desk and interact w/ me in a friendly manner....I miss him very much...and as much as I love my leo and my snake...I find myself wanting that interaction again....I'm not really wanting to get a furry animal (if possible) as I'm pretty allergic to most of them.....But my question is what are the most social (w/ humans) reptiles???...I know alot are going to say leos LOL....But any other suggestions would be appericated....I want something I'm not going to have to worry about running away or jumping off my desk.....and something that can tolerate a good amount of handling.....anything like this??? If not just tell me....Dont say "get a dog" because I can not....LOL....anyway, thanks ahead of time

id say a beardie, or a uromastyx. I have 4 uro's, and 3 beardies and they are just GREAT when it comes to personality. Either of them will sit in one spot for HOURS and watch tv with me, or explore the couch. You dont have to really worry about them running away for the most part.

Thats just what I would choose.

well if your willing to get another bird i think you should definatly adopt a conure. i dont know about how you deal with noise and all but i'm a bird freak and i think the bird is the best pet in the world for social interaction. my sun conure loves cuddling and talking and she is so cute. just a suggestion that if you have the money and time to spend training and all the rewards of a parrot are great but i have heard beardies are great in terms of reptiles. i want a beardie but my dad will kill me if i bring home another animal hope you find the perfect new buddie
